Au début des années 1970 elle représente le Canada à l'Exposition Universelle d'Osaka et donne 500 représentations partout au Japon. Après cette période, elle a fait plusieurs tournées notamment en Irlande (1971), en Angleterre et aux États-Unis.
Édith Butler is a French-speaking Acadian singer and recipient of the Order of Canada (O.C.) and the Order of New Brunswick (O.N.B.). Through her spirited songs and expressive warmth, Édith Butler contributes to the promotion of Acadian culture. She began her career in the mid-1960s in Moncton and became known across Canada through the Singalong Jubilee program. She quickly became popular and was invited to participate in various folk festivals in Canada and the United States from 1962 to 1967. In the early 1970's she represented Canada at the Osaka World Exposition and gave 500 performances throughout Japan. After this period, she made several tours in Ireland (1971), England and the United States.
