808 (originally Planet Rock & Other Tales of the 808) is a 2015 American documentary film directed, co-produced and co-written by Alexander Dunn, co-produced by Arthur Baker, Craig Kallman and Alex Noyer and co-written by Luke Bainbridge. It is narrated by Zane Lowe and documents the history and culture of the Roland TR-808, one of the first programmable drum machines that had a significant effect on 1980s hip hop and pop music.
